From the reviews
I've been taking pilates classes with Ellie for over a year now, and have followed her over to her new studio and couldn't be more happy that she has opened her own space. Ellie is one of the best teachers I've had across barre, Barre3, and pilates--including in bigger cities like Seattle.
so i finally gave in and tried this place, still not totally sold on pilates but honestly i was suprized how much i enjoyed it. the instructor made everything so clear and simple I didn't feel totally lost like I normally do in a new fitness class, people were really freindly too.
Such a beautiful space and amazing experience. Ellie makes you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you step in. Being new to Pilates, Ellie made the class easy to follow for me while still challenging the more experienced people in the class. Very excited to further my Pilates here
Love Ellie’s classes! She mixes traditional mat Pilates with a sprinkle of weight lifting. She uses great music and focuses on deep abdominal exercises. She’s a fun and uplifting instructor with lot of experience!
Your first barre class at The Pilates Studio Bayside
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
