Sea Core Pilates is the real deal! It is located inside the dance studio and convenient to get in and out of. Angelique was amazing and helped me improve my form on several exercises. I got a killer birthday workout in while I was in town and appreciated the multiple class times and how kind everyone was.
I had the pleasure of discovering Sea Core during my visit last summer, and it was an absolute delight. Angelique's Pilates class left such a positive impression on me that I eagerly booked multiple classes when I returned for my summer vacation this year.
I have always loved pilates, but when Angelique introduced me to reformer pilates it was like a whole new world to tap into. There are so many different variations and she is such a good instructor, even as a beginner I always feel so comfortable and confident in her classes and feel like I get a full body workout.
Great Pilates classes by Angelique. I had trouble finding her at first, the classes are inside the Atlantic dance studio. The reformers are portable and not as padded as the ones I was used to, and she does a lot of bridge work! But the class is limited to 4 people, and you get lots of personalized attention.
Your first barre class at Sea Core Pilates and Barre - out of Atlantic Dance
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
