**5/5 Stars – A Hidden Gem I Can't Live Without** Every once in a while, you come across a place that you just can’t live without. For me, that's **Sculpt Pilates and Barre** in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I’ve tried numerous Pilates studios from Hershey to Harrisburg to Mechanicsburg and this is my absolute favorite. I was intimidated at first because I never tried reformer Pilates until about a year ago. The instructors give such helpful tips and the other clients are so welcoming and it’s always such a good time.
Love this place! I found Sculpt a couple years ago & never looked back. They have great classes, very knowledgeable instructors, a flexible schedule & a beautiful studio. The owner, Beth, is wonderful, helpful & really goes above & beyond for her clients.
Sculpt classes are a wonderful experience! Pilates is a great exercise with intentional focus on breath and technique, especially in Carrie’s classes. I have had chronic knee problems over the years, tried physical therapy a few times, but nothing has helped the way Pilates has since it evenly works all leg muscles…
Your first barre class at Sculpt Pilates + Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
