From the reviews
First time ever at a Pure Barre classic class today ! It was Simply superb and Abby was a great instructor !! And Marissa was awesome today She was very helpful and very knowledgeable and I signed up for a define class as well Would highly recommend !!!
Pure Barre is the best workout and the only one I’ve stuck with and done consistently. I started taking it more than a decade ago in NYC and knew I needed to find a Pure Barre studio once I moved to the suburbs. The workout is effective, and targets all your muscle groups using small isometric movements.
I’m so glad that I decided to try Pure Barre. It is an amazing workout and all of the trainers are amazing. There are several formats of classes available so you can always pick what best suits you. There are multiple opportunities for class times as well, which is convenient for those of us with complicated schedules.
Pure Barre is truly a wonderful community I am grateful to be a part of. From the warm welcome and friendly faces in the front to the talented instructors leading the class, I always feel supported. You can expect to feel empowered, challenged, and perhaps a bit sore after your first session!
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
