From the reviews
I have been taking PB classes at Reynolda and Stratford studios for a year now, and I have loved every single class. Out of all my fitness routines I've tried this format has toned and strengthend me the most.
Hands down the best workout there is with the most welcoming staff and community. They offer several class formats so you always have the option to switch things up! The teachers are so well trained and educated in what they do, providing the safest and most effective workout for you and your needs.
I started Pure Barre a little over a year ago hoping to balance out spin with strength training and flexibility. Within a month, it became my primary form of exercise. With the different class formats, you can get balanced workouts (cardio, strength, flexibility) all in one place.
I'm so thankful I found pure Barre when I wanted to get back into shape this year. This studio is filled with the most incredible instructors and people! Throughout quarantine they offered several live stream classes per day and gave suggestions for how you could recreate the equipment at home.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
