From the reviews
I love that the classes are always challenging, and I can see my strength and flexibility improve. I also appreciate the variety of class formats offered, which means the workout never gets old. The cross-training, focus on form and low-impact approach has helped me avoid injury, and even overcome prior injuries.
Pure Barre has totally transformed my body! I was a runner before and got trapped in a vicious cycle of running and then having to eat because I was so hungry from running and then having to run because I ate so much food! With Pure Barre, I am so lean and absolutely healthy and can eat reasonably.
Great work outs. Great instructors. Great community. Have been a member for 4.5 years and love it.
Pure Barre has been such a great addition to my workout routine! After 750+ classes over the last 3-4 years I can honestly say that it doesn’t get any easier. Week after week I’m left with that “good sore”. The one that makes you feel like you actually did something to help build those muscles up post workout.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
