From the reviews

I tried a Pure Barre Classic class and absolutely loved it. It was really difficult but I pulled through. The instructor took some time to explain a few terms to me before the class which was very helpful. I’m introverted so I was a little nervous but I didn’t feel pressured to be social and everyone was really nice.

Pure Barre has truly become my happy place. 💗 Since starting, I’ve felt more confident, stronger, and noticeably more toned. The classes have improved my posture and flexibility in ways I didn’t expect, and I love feeling my body get better with every class. The environment is always so positive and uplifting.

Wonderful experience visiting PBAY for the first time! I tried the free Barre class. The others who had signed up for the class that evening had canceled, but the owner, Laura, still let me take the class so I had the instructor all to myself!

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
