From the reviews
I have been taking barre for a few months now and have completely fallen in love with it! The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and really care that you are getting the best workout. I like that they use hands on corrections, so I know that I am in the right position and won’t injure myself.
Love Pure Barre South Bend! I am 43, and started coming to class 2 months ago recovering from a shoulder injury (and generally being out of shape). Pure Barre has been the perfect workout for healing one area at the same time as getting a great full body workout.
I'm a student at Notre Dame & have often had trouble finding a workout routine that fits well with my busy schedule. I’ve been a member at Pure Barre for the past 5 months & have loved every moment of it.
I love Pure Barre South Bend! The workout itself is challenging but adaptable for any level of experience. Whether you have been to 10 classes or 100, you are in for a great total body workout when you walk into the studio. The staff and the instructors are all so friendly and make an effort to get to know the members.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
