From the reviews

I’ve done Pilates and Yoga in college but nothing compares to Pure Barre. I was pretty nervous on my first day thinking I’d walk in with a bunch of experienced ladies and make a fool of myself but that could be further from the truth. Everyone was welcome and have positive spirits the whole time.

I stepped into my first Pure Barre class in January 2024, when I was going through some tough times with my personal and home life. Pure Barre helped bring a calm, refreshing environment back into my life. The work outs themselves are pretty incredible and I have noticed a difference in my body, absolutely.

I love the studio, full of friendly faces. Barre offers a unique workout that doesn’t stress your joints, but gives you amazing results in muscle tone (with consistency). The variety of classes available allows you to choose the focus of your workout.

I love coming to Pure Barre in Saginaw! I grew up here then moved away. It’s so great to have a high quality workout studio when I come back to visit. The staff is so nice and knows everyone by name. Which I find extra impressive as I’m not there every week. The workouts are wonderful, I always leave feeling stronger.

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
