I can't speak highly enough of Pure Barre North Hollywood! I've been a member here for YEARS now, and the workouts are still fresh and challenging. I love, love, love the community here -- the teachers are so great about tracking your personal progress and motivating you to reach your goals.
I've been coming to this studio nearly every day for over 5 years and it is truly my home away from home. The current instructors are so motivating and welcoming.
I have been coming to PBNH for three months and absolutely love everything about it. From my first class I fell in love with the classes, the socks, and the community. Savannah is an amazing instructor and always pushes me to my fullest potential in class.
I started coming to pure barre in prep for my wedding (I had already bought my dress and I was just looking to tone up)…. Within 3 months (when I went for my second fitting) - I had dropped 3 full dress sizes (the girls at galia Lahav were like 😱). And it’s not just pure barre…. It’s THIS pure barre.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
