From the reviews

Coming from a 35 year old who had never stuck with any workout routine since high school, I quickly became obsessed. The changes I saw in my body and felt mentally are unmatched to anything I’ve ever tried before. Been doing it almost a year now and I truly look forward to coming in the mornings.

I’ve been going to Pure Barre Macon for almost two years and I love it! All the teachers are amazing, super friendly, encouraging, and they really make every class fun and provide feedback. Even though it’s group fitness, I’ve always felt totally comfortable and welcomed.

Pure Barre is hands-down, the Best total body workout for any age and stage of your life! I've been taking weekly classes at Pure Barre Macon for 8 years now. It played a vital role in strengthening my body in preparation for major back surgery (from a degenerative condition) two years ago at the age of 53.

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
