From the reviews
I’ve been going to Pure Barre for nearly 5 years and in that time I have increased my bone density so that it is in normal range and not in danger of osteoporosis. I am 75 and this is important. Even though most of the class is far younger than I, I have made a lot of friends.
Joining pure barre is one of the best things I’ve done for myself since becoming a mom. It helped me get back into a consistent workout routine after a decade long hiatus ( thanks to a busy career and then motherhood). When I joined I was weak and was having minor knee pain.
This review is long overdue. I have been going to Pure Barre Maple Lawn since July of 2022. I have never stuck to something for this long. The instructors are amazing, they will actually correct your form and push you when they know you can do more.
I had such a phenomenal experience at Pure Barre. Heather and Sherry (I hope I'm spelling her name right, sorry if I misspelled it) were excellent and very welcoming. Heather is the manager and Sherry is the owner who was also the instructor for the class.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
