From the reviews

I first heard of Pure Barre from a friend who invited me to attend a class with her. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! Though the class was tough, I enjoyed it so much I decided to join the Fleming Island location. I can’t say enough about the instructors and staff there.

I've been going here since January 2017 and can't imagine not being a member here. I have a high stress job and ending my days here truly help me wind down and feel better both physically and emotionally so that when I go home at night I truly am a better person to my family! The staff here are absolutely amazing.

Pure Barre Fleming Island is welcoming and inviting to everyone! The owner and team facilitate an environment that keeps you coming back and motivated. The workout is exactly what you put into it. Small isometric movements working every muscle group--every class.

★★★★★ — Karen, Jul 2018

Pure Barre Fleming Island has become my second home with my second family. I've never been a fan of working out until I was introduced to Pure Barre. I'm now completely addicted. Pure Barre is low impact and provides the flexibility to work at your own level. The classes are one-size-fits-all for just that reason.

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
