From the reviews
Fantastic full body conditioning and strengthening that also builds flexibility and core stability. If you want a dancer’s grace while have the strength of a warrior, this is the workout you want. And THIS is the studio to come to. The instructors are AMAZING. They are attentive and kind and help you improve.
The PB Brookline team and atmosphere make me want to bring back the word "Aerobics" - when exercise was fun, muscles were seriously burned, the music was energetic and uplifting, and a little bit of neon went a long way.
My favorite work out! You definitely work up a sweat and the staff is SO lovely and supportive. So glad to join the community and excited to get to know everyone and keep tucking!
What a great workout! My fiancée has sworn by barre (and more specifically Pure Barre) for her workouts for some time, and I’ve now gotten the chance to take some with her at this studio and others — and this is the best for sure!
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
