From the reviews
Mary led the best barre class I’ve ever taken — amazing instructor, helpful cues, challenging class. Left feeling strong. My go to workout in Knoxville
I am so happy I decided to start my journey with Neighborhood Barre! I came in knowing almost nothing about barre other than it being Pilates-based, and I’ve learned so much along the way. I never expected low-impact workouts to challenge me so much or give me the burn I was looking for — but wow, they absolutely do!
Barre is my favorite workout to lengthen and tone! At Neighborhood Barre, I feel the most comfortable and feel like I get the most for my time spent there! Kayla at the Farragut location is super nice and helpful! There are many different modifications during the class.
I’ve struggled with going to a gym consistently and then I went to a private workout with my school at neighborhood barre and fell in love! Neighborhood Barre Farragut creates such a great community of people who cheer you on and celebrate your milestones with you!
Your first barre class at Neighborhood Barre Farragut
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
