From the reviews
I had the pleasure of taking a class with Julia last Saturday and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. I have taken barre classes religiously for the last 5 years and I am quite particular about nearly every aspect of a class.
I’ve been a devout follower of the Lotte Berk method now called Barre and trained with the Creme de la Creme in the biz through those 25 yrs. Just to name a few Lydia Bach, Ligerie Burns, Elisabeth Halfpapp and Fred Devito. I think I know who will give my body mind and spirit what it craves.
I just had my second class with Julia and I'm excited for the next. Even though the class is killer...it makes me feel muscles in my body that I didn't know I had. The studio is beautifully designed and maintained, and the space is intimate and welcoming.
This review is for those who are looking for a class to challenge themselves and a place with serious knowledgeable professional trainer support. I mean real professional approach.
Your first barre class at JuliaCore barre studio
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
