From the reviews

My initial five start review of FF was after my first class and I would still give it 5 stars. A year and a half later and this is not just a gym for me, but a sanctuary and safe place. Coaches at FF challenge and support each student simultaneously (regardless of experience level).

I tried my very first aerial class at Fly Freak in 2018, and since then I've made it my aerial home! The instructors are kind, attentive, and make the safety of the students their number one priority. The studio space is BEAUTIFUL with high ceilings, purple fabric, market lights, and big mirrors.

I love fly freak so much! The community is wonderful. Aerial has become such a passion of mine and I feel at home when I come here. I’ve taken Lyra, sling, silks, barre, yoga and chair dance. All the classes are fun and every single instructor is welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable.

I can't say enough about my experience here. You can work out at a lot of different places, but the positive support and sense of community here is unmatched! 💓 So thankful for how much being part of Fly Freak has benefitted my physical AND mental health.

Your first barre class at Fly Freak Studio

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
