I love coming to Core Fitness! I enjoy the pilates classes and the FLEX classes! Every instructor at Core really help you out and I have never felt more comfortable in a gym than I do at Core. I have met great people here. It's always a great feeling of accomplishment when you walk out that you can't wait to go back!
I did a 5-day trial in May and was hooked. As someone who has never signed up for a fitness/gym membership before, this has been the perfect place for me to be. The classes give me the structure I need, especially as someone brand new to Pilates Reformer and Cross Training.
I just started to attend this fitness studio and I love it. The owners, Ross and Beth, have made me feel so welcome and this is a very tight knit community. The instructors are the best I have ever had and I always walk out of a workout feeling challenged more than ever and excited to come back again.
Your first barre class at Core Fitness
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
