From the reviews
Barre classes are fantastic because you can come in at any level and get an amazing workout. I love the classes, feel challenged, and the instructors at this studio are terrific. The intro package is a good way to give it a try and see if it's right for you!
I love this barre studio! The classes are always engaging, thanks to the excellent instructors who keep it changing while always providing a challenging workout. I have been going regularly for about 2 years now and feel so much stronger as a result.
Studio is for all levels, all ages, and all types of physical fitness. I have been going to this studio for 10+ years through surgeries, injuries, aches/pains, and feeling great! It is a wonderful community of cool & welcoming people and truly embodies 'come as you are'.
TDM LF has a wonderful and welcoming environment. I love that you can have a full body workout in 45-60 minutes with barre and added cardio workouts with cycle. The teachers are all very conscious of alignment and making sure that everyone is getting the most benefit out of each movement. Highly recommend!
Your first barre class at BIRD barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
