From the reviews

Ahhhhh so many good things to say about Studio Barre Ventura! I’ve been going for about 3 months now and I couldn’t be happier 🤩😍 I first started going once a week, then three times, and now at least 5 times a week! Yes I’m that addicted!

I wouldn’t normally write a review, but it’s worth it if anyone is on edge about trying SBV. It’s amazing. I can’t believe I joined a month ago and have gone almost every single day. I never thought I could enjoy a workout enough to look forward to going and was bummed to miss out on it.

I was looking for a workout class in my area for some time and found Studio Barre. I just completed my 10th class there. The staff and instructors are very friendly and welcoming, and strive to create a fun community.

I recently relocated to the Ventura area and was so pleased to find this studio and Maddie, the owner. I have always loved barre and the classes offered here provide a fantastic workout, focusing on strength, balance, flexibility and more. I always leave a class feeling stronger and inspired!

Your first barre class at barre3

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
