From the reviews
I was welcomed so warmly for my first class by the front desk person. The teacher, Marissa was an incredible instructor - she was also so welcoming when she heard it was my first class and really took the time to orient me to the space and all of the things I would need to participate, such as the weights, the ball,…
I love barre3! I’ve never been a group fitness person but I always feel supported and uplifted in class. I can show up in whatever shape I’m in and know that I’ll get a good workout and that I can be kind to my body while doing so. The staff are all wonderful too!
Love barre3! Such a fun form of group exercise. Love the space and the instructors. Always feel welcome and supported.
I never write reviews for anything, but I had my very first barre experience here yesterday and I just needed to share. I was incredibly nervous getting back into movement after 6 years of debilitating chronic illness which severely limited my mobility. The kind woman at the front desk (Margarite? Marjorie?
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
