From the reviews
As a busy full time working mom, the time I get for myself is rare, so I spend it with intention — and At the Barre with Jenn is absolutely time well spent. Since joining, I’ve gotten stronger, more flexible, and healthier in ways I never expected.
Jenn is a fantastic instructor. She creates an inclusive and positive environment that motivates you to push yourself. The classes are all unique and accessible for all fitness levels. I have been doing barre for over 10 years and have never felt as strong as I have since joining Jenn's gym last summer.
At the barre with Jenn is an amazing studio! Jenn’s classes are challenging but she offers a lot of different modifications so you can tailor your workout to your own fitness level. I also love the positive atmosphere Jenn creates within her studio.
Just celebrated my 100th class at At the Barre with Jenn! Looking forward to 100 more! Each class is different, fun, and easily modified to a variety of different fitness levels. So glad I found my workout home with Jenn!
Your first barre class at At the Barre with Jenn
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
