From the reviews
I’ve been attending 808 Barre + Pilates for about three months now, and it’s truly been life-changing. When I first walked in, I had never used a reformer and was pretty nervous. However, from the moment I stepped into the studio, I was welcomed with positivity and great energy.
Becky is so good at what she does. Her studio is amazing, clean and gorgeous. I moved to Kailua 2 months ago and I found her while searching for a nice studio to workout. I had never done Pilates before. So, I decided to take a private one hour lesson that she had on special for $75 first to check her vibes.
I've always had a hard time sticking with my fitness routine. I've tried plenty of free trials at different gyms and ClassPass, but I always end up burning out. Then I found 808 Barre and Pilates on Mindbody, which offered a free class. Naturally, I gave it a shot, and I was instantly hooked.
Clean, comfy, and a breath of fresh air walking into this cute studio. I have been coming to Becky's classes for about three months now and I LOVE it. I learn something new at EVERY single class and the challenge feels so good.
Your first barre class at 808 Barre + Pilates Kailua
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
